Preparing for your Senior Session
Location and Timing
Senior sessions start about 3 hours prior to sunset and typically last up to 2 hours. Guy sessions tend to be a little shorter. I will confirm with you the exact time a few days before your shoot. We will talk via phone or text about location options and figure out together the best spots for your session. We can shoot in 2-3 different locations in one session if we don’t have to go too far.
What to Wear
I want you to look your best. Solid colors are always a good choice. Your outfits need to be/reflect your personal style. Plan to wear 2 to 3 outfits/styles. If possible, try to have a casual and a more dressy outfit. Layers are a great way to add variety to your pictures. Just by throwing a jacket or a flannel shirt over a t-shirt can get multiple looks without having to do a complete outfit change. If you wear an undershirt make sure it’s not a contrasting, distracting color. If your shirt is dark, undershirt should be dark as well. Please avoid: large logos, large text, neon colors and too trendy clothes. Try them on and see how everything fits. Your shoes will show in the pictures, make sure they’re clean and look nice. Feel free to send me pictures of your outfits and ask for help if you feel stuck and can’t decide what to wear. Pinterest offers ideas and inspiration that can help you with what to wear for your senior pictures.
Accessories
Feel free to bring any items that you might want to incorporate into your session. This can be a book, a musical instrument, your letterman jacket, sports gear, your car, etc. Be creative and give your photos that extra character. You’re more than welcome to bring your dog/pet too, just make sure it’s either at the beginning or at the end of the session and that someone will be there to take care of it.
Nails
Fingernails should be clean and trimmed.
What to Bring
. 2 to 3 outfits - ironed and on hangers.
. accessories or whatever you want to incorporate into your session.
. water bottle.
After Your Session
You will receive an email link to your proof gallery a few days after your session. These images will not be fully edited and they’ll have a watermark on them. You’ll be able to select the images of your choice by simply favoriting them. I’ll finish editing your selected photos and deliver the high resolution files no later than 2 weeks after your final selection. Please, make your selection as soon as possible so I can deliver your final gallery in a timely manner.
Your Final Gallery
You will receive your final edited photos in the same way you received your proof gallery. Please, download your pictures and back them up if possible. From the gallery, you’ll be able to order print products or you can use your preferred lab to print your images ( I can not guarantee the quality of your prints if you don’t use my professional lab). The gallery has limited options, so if you don’t see what you want, please ask me! I offer lay flat books, image cubes, image blocks, metal prints, etc. The options are endless! I highly recommend that you print your images, you’ll be able to enjoy them more than if they live in your computer only.
